I've always wanted to try one of them... Ubejane skinner. Now I've used one for just couple of days and I'm amazed how big the potential of this blade is! It's perfect slicer, great for camp kitchen work thanks to "dropped" edge line. Size is quite compact, however big enough for most knife jobs I do. Also for it's size it is surprisingly good chopper. So I'm equipped for my spring outdoor trip with this blade:
Well, it's great slicer, cutter and chopper, but it may be too bulky for more delicate work sometimes. I've tried to couple it with small folder, but that was not what I wanted: set of two simple tools, two fixed blades. One for all-round work (Ubejane) and one for precision cuts. Kind of "scalpel companion". And than... A BLAST... that was soooo obvious. Who makes little big knives? FrontSight, of course. So I've done a kydex rig that matches in color my Maxpedition Condor and... well, that's my Dream Team now: Chris Reeve & FrontSight - Ubejane & HideAway:
