Let me give you a quick overview on what features I incorporated in this design.
The kydex sheath covers both the head & pry bar end,Safety to the user,Millitary would prefer any dangerous edges of points be secure for carry or possible jump situation.I incorporated a titanium spine for rigidity,Also holes serve as lashing points. It can be carried via the swivel belt loop.
The hatchet itself incorporates A saw,wire breaker notch,pry bar,oxygen wrench slot,Bolt-on attachment system,Point spike,recurve spike,hammer,shackle wrench,open end wrench.
I'm considering various steels,S-7,5160 or A2 differentially heattreated.Tough material for a hard use tool.
G-10 scales w/ 2 lanyard hole locations,At the end of handle,Also located under the oxygen wrench slot.Like the competition cutter's setup.A milled recess in scale material for index & grip.
The CAD design is closed to being finalized.Once that's done,I send thye drawing to my waterjet guy.BTW,I'm using his Omax software to design with.I'm looking at possibly coating it in Gun-Kote.
Now your up to speed on this project.
