I donate a knife to my local volunteer fire depart every year for there spring auction.
I am to decrepit to fight fires so this is my way of making a contribution.

* The knife is a 15 1 / 2 inch Bowie with a polished damascus blade N / S handle and wrought iron guard, tiger strip maple with elk antler to ferrule.

* The lanyard thingy is wrought iron.

Wonderful knife, true piece of art! They'll be excited to get this beauty. What pattern does the damascus blade have, it's hard to see on that picture?

Carsten,

The blade is a mix of L6 and 01 and was done in a random pattern.

I do not normally finish damascus with a shiny surface but the folks at the fire dept. requested it.

Hey Fred,

it´s the third time today I´m looking at that great piece of steel...
Damn, I ain´t a firefighter, but this one I´d also take home...

But: Could you please post some more pics?

Greets,
Dom

When and where will the auction be? You can´t be so decrepit if your able to forge such a knife.
