Hi guys. I wanna share another find with you. This time I present you Rob. Klaas Ohligs Solingen in mother-of-pearl. I have several knives of this brand and I love them very much for their excellent quality and incredible click. (I mean old knives of German production) I noticed that they have different stamps and inscriptions on the tang. On some models it's indicated Rob t Klaas Solingen and on others Rob. Klaas Ohligs Solingen. But unfortunately, I couldn't find catalogs of this company, since I use English for searching. Maybe you can help me with catalogs and determine the age of this MOP beauty? Hello Arie,
you noticed correctly, that Robert Klaas cutler altered both the 'Kissing Cranes' tradmark and thy type of marking the company's name.

The location mark of 'OHLIGS' along with the name of 'SOLINGEN' makes me date the knife pre 1929. At that time Ohligs merged with Solingen.

A Robert Klaas sales catalog of 1925 is illustrating your knife along with other sizes of such knife pattern with genuine mother-of-pearl handle slabs.
