Good evening, gentlemen.
I present to you a small selection of Robert Klaas knives. I've already shown you some of them. I noticed four different hallmarks.

Here's a mother-of-pearl knife and a carbon steel callus knife, both marked "Rob." Klaas Ohligs Solingen. The callus knife was made for the US market, where this type of knife was popular until the 1930s. Back then, shoes weren't as comfortable as they are now, and beauty demanded sacrifice. Therefore, a small knife with a thin, razor-sharp blade was in demand. The small pen knife bears a "transitional" hallmark. A "t" was added to "Rob," but the word "Ohligs" is still present, which disappeared after 1929. By the way, it has a very cute case made of super soft and thin leather. Cases like these used to be used for glasses.

These hunters already bear the usual Rob t Klaas Solingen hallmark.

Please note the knife's mark with red scales, it differs from the others. There is no word Solingen, is this vintage China?

And finally, a completely different hallmark with two crossed ladles and the letters RK. Yes, that's also Robert Klaas. By the way, the steel knife has a French-style bottle opener. I found that unusual. And the knife itself looks French in style. Enjoy

Nice knives, dear Arie! I remember that I once had a knife with those soup ladles, too ... took me a while to figure out who "RK" was ... :ROFLMAO:

@Arie Leib Great collection! Thanks for showing.
Just an idea to that red one, stamped GERMANY. Probably not China, nor Solingen but former GDR, even ordered by R. Klaas.

Most interesting is the steel multi-knife. It looks totally like the french ones, indeed. What might be the story about?

Thank you, Burghardt, that's a good hypothesis. If Robert Klaas placed orders in the GDR, it was most likely at Leegebruch, a factory founded by Bohemian Germans, if I'm not mistaken. But this knife is very well made.

As for the guilloche steel knife, it's definitely worth learning more about. At first, I thought it was like the Frankenstein knife I recently posted. The main blade is unmarked, like a French bottle opener... But I couldn't find any signs of it being tampered with. All the rivets are in place, and all the blades work perfectly. Something to keep me busy this weekend 🧐
