The Spartan-Harsey Dagger stands as a tribute to one of the most influential figures in modern knife design—William W. Harsey Jr. A master designer and maker, and a member of the BLADE Magazine Cutlery Hall of Fame, Harsey’s name is etched into the history of American military knives.

During his formative years, Harsey worked alongside and designed for some of the most respected names in tactical cutlery—including Colonel Rex Applegate, Al Mar, and the U.S. Army Special Forces. These collaborations helped shape the evolution of military blades and cemented Harsey’s reputation for blending form, function, and battlefield-ready reliability.

That legacy is embedded in every line of the Spartan-Harsey Dagger. Drawing inspiration from iconic fighting knives like the Applegate Fairbairn and the classic commando daggers of WWII, Harsey reimagines the form with modern materials, precision machining, and a deep respect for purpose-built design.

More than just a blade, the Spartan-Harsey Dagger is a continuation of a storied lineage—crafted for those who know the value of tradition and demand the performance to match.

The Award-Winning Dagger That Set a Standard – Meet the V-14

The V-14 Dagger was our first full-sized combat blade—and it made an immediate impact. Designed in collaboration with Les George, the V-14 honors the legacy of classic military daggers while pushing the envelope with modern materials, precision machining, and real-world feedback from active-duty operators.

Introduced in 2014 (hence the name), the V-14 quickly gained a reputation for performance and reliability, becoming a favorite among Special Operations forces and even seeing adoption by select units.

That same year, it earned top honors, winning the 2014 Collaboration of the Year at the International BLADE Show, the world’s premier knife industry event.

Its success hasn’t gone unnoticed. The V-14’s distinctive design has since inspired many imitators hoping to replicate its field-proven reputation.

But there’s only one original V-14. Crafted with intent. Proven in the field.

CQB Tool
Forged in the Shadows. Built for the Fight.

Compact, lethal, and purpose-driven, the CQB Tool was born from real-world necessity and developed in secrecy through a collaboration between Spartan Blades and Mr. Greg Thompson, the creator of the U.S. Army’s Special Operations Combatives Program (SOCP). Contracted by USSOCOM, Thompson was tasked with designing a close-quarters solution for the battlefield, a tool that could protect a soldier’s primary weapon system when engagements turned hand-to-hand.

Spartan Blades was the first to bring this concept to life, engineering a blade that was fast to access, easy to conceal, and devastatingly effective in tight, chaotic encounters. For years, the CQB Tool remained undisclosed, quietly fielded by elite Special Operations Forces as a mission-critical part of their kit.

Since then, several companies have introduced their versions of the CQB Tool—but each one is ultimately a nod to the original, developed by Spartan Blades, Mr. Thompson, and the Special Warfare Center and School at Ft Bragg. The design has influenced a new generation of close-quarters tools, but the legacy—and the benchmark—began here.

Built for those who operate in the shadows, every Spartan CQB Tool is forged with precision, grit, and uncompromising purpose. This isn’t just a blade—it’s an extension of the warrior, designed for when every second counts.

The Spartan CQB Tool. The original. The proven. The trusted.
