Ich bin verwirrt...

Das Timberline Specware... ist das...
a) eine Kooperation der Firmen Emerson und Timberline oder...
b) ein Design von einem Herrn Emerson Neely (Vorname Emerson, Nachname Neely) oder ...
c) eine Design-Kooperation von Ernie Emerson und Herrn XY Neely?

Tja, Fragen über Fragen...

Leider konnte ich die HP von Timberline nicht finden und auf der Emerson HP steht nichts. Eine Antwort wäre schön...

Dort ist aber nur noch von einem »Aviator® Pilot Survival Knife (Vaughn Neeley)« die Rede...

Mich hat's selbst interessiert, deshalb habe ich noch ein bisschen recherchiert. In diesem Thread (man muss im USN angemeldet sein, um dort direkt zu lesen) habe ich folgendes gefunden:

Never one to sit still, Emerson approached Vaughn Neeley of Timberline Knives in the Fall of 1993 with an all-new tactical knife he was designing for Naval Special Warfare Group One in San Diego. This knife, which went on to become an outstanding collaborative effort between Emerson and Neeley is now known as the Timberline SPECWAR(TM) model. This knife earned itself the prestigious "American Made Knife of the Year" award at the International Blade Show in Atlanta last year. It is a fixed blade knife, measuring 11 7/8 inches overall, carrying an ATS-34 stainless blade hardened to Rc 60, and black titanium nitride coated. Neeley designed a unique Kydex/Nylon web sheath for this new knife. Like Emerson's SPECWAR custom knives, this model features a one-side chisel ground blade almost 1/4 inch thick. Its handle is of fiberglass reinforced Nylon, molded around a near-full tang.

Und dann habe ich noch das auf der Homepage von Emerson gefunden:

Emerson has added two more tactical folders to his line-up since the Raven and CQC series. His Specwar series of locking liner folders is patterned after his notable fixed blade-fighting knife of the same name, which was commercially produced by Timberline Knives for a time.

Und die letzte Info stammt aus den Bladeforums:

Just a little history about the Specwar. It was a collaboration between Nealy and Emerson. Timberline produced it and the retail was near $400 when new. The knives ended up selling for under $300 and from what I understand Timberline took a loss on the knives and thus stopped producing them. The handle material was non conductive and impervious to everything including heat, and chemicals. The coating on the blade was not a corrosion resistant coating. It was a wear resistant coating that was reputed to be a Rockwell hardness of 80-90. Harder than even Chrome. The edge was chisel like all the emerson specwars. The Aviator was much smaller and cheaper and sold better, I think.

Kann aber für die Informationen natürlich die Hand nicht ins Feuer legen ;-)

Um das ganze zu bestätigen:
In Visier Special 9 (Messer II) Seite 55 und in Visier Special 12 (Militärmesser) Seite 89 ist das Messer abgebildet und jeweils als Designkooperation von Ernest Emerson und Vaughn Neely beschrieben.

Soweit ich weiß,hat E. Emerson das Messer designt.Er hatte auch einen Folder bei Benchmade designt. Das Timberline Specware gab es in drei verschieden Ausführungen.In Blanker(ohne Beschichtung), Grauer und Schwarzer Klinge.Bei der Schwarzen Klinge handelt es sich um eine Titan Beschichtung, bei der Grauen weiß ich es nicht.Das Specwar ohne Beschichtung(Blanke Klinge), habe ich mal in einem US Magazin gesehen.
Hoffe ich konnte helfen.
