Hello everybody!

My name is MArtin and I am new here - since I´m swedish I will try to communicate in english. I see that there other members here that come from outside Germany too.

My biggest interest right now are the old, classic Springmesser models that were made in Germany / Solingen.
Off course I love the Hubertus knives and they are still easy to buy . But I try to find older knives from other producers too.

It is hard to find them in Europe these days. The largest number of collectors live in the US, and buying from there is not an option.

I would also be interested in defected old springers or parts like blades, bolsters/liners etc.

Maybe someone can suggest som european auctionsites online, maybe specific knifeauctions where I possibly could try to find something!?!

Anyway - I think this forum will be really fun to explore since I like many different type of knives.

See you !!!

Hi, and thank you for the link - I am very familiar with knifeshop.com already!
But your suggestion is really good, knifeshop.com have very many of Hubertus lovely knives.

I have to tell you...
Last summer I travelled to Wien/ Vienna on my honeymoon. There I visited Martin Morocutti, who runs knifeshop.com with his father.

I´m glad that my wife agreed to go to Wien for the honeymoon, she knew why I wanted to go there:D

What a surprise!
That was very nice from your wife.
At the moment I don't know any other shop for the knives you are looking for. But in general, Lorenzi is a very good adress for knives in Vienna. www.lorenzi.co.at

Hi Martin,

welcome onboard the German "Messerforum"!

I have to admit that I'm not into auto knives, but from what I know, a lot of the traditional producers from Solingen had them in their program. But popularity of those folders has gone down considerably, not least courtesy of the German law, forbidding any autos with blades longer than 8,5cm long (and for quite a while the width had to be at least 15% of the length, thus outlawing even more of those knives).

Anyway, they seem to be quite rare these days. HUBERTUS is certainly the most widespread producer, and I've seen some from BÖKER, too.

Prime sources for purchasing are, as you might have expected, e**y.de, and also **** might yield a few. But be prepared or a long and tiring search.

Yours
Norbert

And be carefull! Even if you have paid for the knife, you must not recieve it! Get it by COD! so you are secure. If someone sells such a knife in Germany the german officals are not far away.
