Another J. A. Henckels

Hello, friends!
I'm sharing another catch J. A. Henckels. The blade is made of carbon steel; note the J. A. Henckels Solingen stamp. There's no word "Germany" on it. The scales are patterned like aluminum, and the liners are brass. There's a subtle play of blade, but it can be easily fixed by pressing in the rivets. I'd love to hear your opinion on the age. But the scales look really nice and beautiful! And the liners, too. For me more like german silver then brass!?

There‘s a notch in the handle on the back side - is there a blade missing?

Die Klinge ist etwas angelaufen . Ist vorgesehen, diese noch zu reinigen? DerKlingenstempel schaut für mich so aus wie das heutige Logo. Ab wann wurde dieser Stempel etwa benutzt?

Hi, Abu!
You're very observant as always. There is indeed a second small blade without a stamp, but it's broken. I'll try to replace it. Honestly, I can't always tell the difference between brass and nickel silver. It's probably nickel silver, as brass has a more yellowish tint. Thank you.

Its not stainless, the style of the liners and the tang stamp - J.A. Henckels, Solingen points to 1895 - 1904.

Hallo, ich habe an diesem Messer gearbeitet, aber es war nicht sehr erfolgreich. Ich habe die Klinge mit Stahlwolle gereinigt, sie dann 10 Minuten in weißen Essig eingelegt, dann eine Stunde in Backpulver, dann wieder mit Stahlwolle gereinigt und schließlich mit Autopolitur poliert. Aber wie Sie sehen, hat das nicht viel geholfen. Was die Prägung betrifft, so produzierte Henckels seine letzten Klappmesser im Jahr 1975. Die Prägungen lauteten „Friodur“, „Rosfrei“ und „Germany“. Mein Messer ist aus Kohlenstoffstahl, daher kann es diese Markierungen nicht haben. Es fehlt aber auch die Markierung „Germany“, die ein Hinweis auf sein Alter sein könnte. Nach 1975 wurden Klappmesser für Henckels von Böker hergestellt.

And after @kaiman said it has to be early 20. Century I did some research and can definitely tell it was produced between 1915 and 1927. This was the time where "Nicht Rostend" (Stainless) came up, found some evidence here (pretty intersting catalog and listings here - use search function to jump to the "J.A. So, as your knife is not stainless I would say its either from the same Era or earlier.

Could your knife have had three blades originally?
If not, it was probably also offered as a two-blade model.
