Help to identify Old Hubertus Fixed Blade

I found this knife in a terrible state, rusted and had been used to open paint tins. A friend cleaned it up and gave it a good edge. However I'd like to know a little about it, including how old it might be. The blade is etched with Hubertus Solingen. The handle has a "fleur de lys" badge. Thanks for any help.

Hi there,

as far as I can tell you, it should be an old german boyscout knife.
The badge shows a lily and that´s their sign.
Unfortunately I got no idea about the steel and when it was made.
I´m sure somebody else is able to help.

I used to have exactly the same, whwn I was young (Don't start smiling now). So the thing was given to me arround 1976. I might be wrong but this model is still for sale as far as I know.

The shape of this knife is very old. It was used even before the Third Reich for youth organisations like Wandervogel.
Later on it was the typical knife for the Hitler Jugend and after 2nd World War it stayed a knife for boys.
I'm sure it was one of the first knifes for a lot of knife freaks here.
 
HUBERTUS knife

Hi deftlite,
the illustrated knife is a classic style German BOY SCOUT sheath knife.
It was developped in the 1930's and it was manufactured by many well renowned knifemakers in Germany.
The boy scout emblem is of post WWII style and that matches with the HUBERTUS brandname - which was NOT used to mark such knives prior to the 1950's.

Boy scout knives mostly came with a black metal sheath with black leather belt loop hanger,and they were / are available in two sizes with blade length 4" or 4-1/2" (10 cm or 12 cm).
Blade material was optionable carbon or stainless steel.

If the knife in question bears a tang stamp as mark it was crafted probably prior to the mid 1970's -after that time HUBERTUS changed the style of marking to sand blusting and lateron to electrolytical etching.
Obviously such BOY SCOUT knives are still manufactured by HUBERTUS in Solingen.
