Here are some of the nex pheonix in carbon steel, ,
jenni has now a carton of these.
the handles are of textolite, the blades are u8a steel , this is a carbon tool steel.
they are zone tempered, the blade being 57-59 rockwell the back of the blade being 50 rockwell and the grip being 45 rockwell, the pommel spike is left harder, around 55-59 ,
(it is hard to control the hardness of such a small area)
the blade is now 7mm thick.
the grips are bolted on and can be reomved, the screws and nuts for this are brass and stainless steel. under the grip the tang has litening holes cut into it,
the sheath is heavy black leather, 4-5mm thick,
it is hand stitched with a double row of heavy nylon thread,
there is 4 large metal loops for leg straps and one smaller leather loop as at the end of the sheath for a tie down cord,
the belt loop is riveted on with 4 rivets for a good deal of security,
