Recently i received this item, which looks like some sort of luxury butcher's cleaver.
To me the bladeshape resembles a warrior's axe complete with convex edge, but the meat tenderizer on the back gives it away.
Problem is i've never seen anything like it, so could this be a one off built by a butcher with metal working skills, or is it a regular shop item from who knows where ?
The thing is completely made from stainless steel, and has what looks like deep etchings in the blade of the axe.
Handle is made from a mix of translucent red plastic, non-translucent yellow plastic, and a Micarta or Bakelite midsection, not sure.
The whole item breathes quality, but at the same time has something of a movie prop.
There are also no markings on it.
It can also be dissassembled, partly at least.
Even Mr Bernard Levine had never seen something like this before.
Maybe someone here ?
