Chris Reeve Knives "Scout" - well, at least that's how I named it ;)

My own one-off design. Basically it's CRK Ubejane skinner, which I modified to my liking. I cut off the "horn", re-profiled the tip a bit and also I ground the spine in the MT SOCOM style (just for aesthetics). Than I sent it to David Abramson (aka Lifter) for some fine leather. That was not so easy for him, as I asked him to implement the style of Shadow III pancake-style in this sheath. I like a sheath to keep my knife tight & close to my hip. And this one is perfect in that respect. Thanks David for great sheath man! Next step was re-coating of the knife. Chris Reeve is unfortunately not in favor to re-condition modified knives. However, as you can see, I managed to arrange bead blasting and also real kalgard coating somehow with help of my friends in US. Turned out cool! Sharpenning, edge polishing… and my knife was ready for action! My own, one of a kind CRK “Scout”. My buddy Wysz told it looked like “fixed Sebenza”. Well, it does, don’t you think? Anyway, after several weeks my dream come true and I have one-piece CRK blade just as I wanted it to be! The cost of sending twice to US, blasting, coating, sheathing etc. was not much less than the base knife itself, but anyway, it was money well spent. What do you think about this one?

Well done PiterM :super:
I must agree with AQUIRRE
That's better then just modifying Sebenzas ;)

You have good connection to Chris Reeve, try to convince him to build your Scout in series, that will be a good selling design....at least I would by one inmediately...how long did it take to cut of the horn ?
Bye

Tokee, believe me that cutting & grinding hardened tool steel (like A2) is really HARDCORE job!

BTW, I've showed it to Chris, of course. If you like it... just push CRK with your email to do that. So called "market pull" makes wonders :hehe:

Very good looking indeed! And the blade shape really seems to cover the classic Sebenza. Should go into production ... me at least wold like to get one:)

what kind of coating you have used?

Ich würde mal tippen er hat Kalgard genommen :p

EDIT:
Falls manche NICHT wissen was Kalgard ist:
CR (Chris Reeve; www.chrisreeve.com ) verwendet diese Beschichtung für seine "One Piece" (=weil komplett aus einem Stück gefertigt) Serie.
Die Beschichtung wird aufgesprüht und "backt" dann unter Hitze fest.

Not just kalkard, but REAL KALGARD :)
But seriously, PiterM, since this word doesn't exist in English dictionaries nor in German encyclopedias, you could have explained about this being a chemical's company brand name, used on CR fixed blades etc.

Otherwise, congrats on the beautiful knife you created, I guess in order to get it into production you'd have to explain the functional reasons/advantages over existing models that make your version preferable.
Best,
t.
