"I just want to address recent concerns posted by a European retailer. I’m also sharing the pics from our Tuya European distributor which shows test results from Bohler showing the steel is consistent with M390 and HRC is also as advertised.
Tuya Knives guarantees that the steel used on the QAR or any other model is authentic Bohler M390, heat-treated to the correct hardness. This has been validated by Bohler’s own testing laboratory, and there is no evidence to suggest otherwise. While Tuya does not purchase directly from Bohler due to minimum order requirements, all M390 and S90V are sourced through a certified steel supplier.
Personally I assure you all that I wouldn’t be a part of any dishonest business practices like that, and my personal opinion it don’t make sense because I googled cost of Steel a small batch company like this to make 100pc 3” knife blades in M390 is only $500-$800 the cost is in belts, machines, and labor. I also just helped them spend $13,000 for Camo carbon fiber, so steel isn’t a big deal.
Tuya don’t do large batches at all, max 300pc so it wouldn’t even make sense to save $5-$8 per knife and risk the reputation of your business.
For those that don’t know, I have been the U.S rep for Tuya for about 9 years now. I raised 4 kids and gave them a good life. I did this part time for years and now own a storefront where I sell some other brands along with Tuya. My website is Tuya only, and I do any warranty service needed I keep extra parts and will take care of anything you need. Tuya’s are all under lifetime warranty and they stand behind their knives and do whatever I ask for the customer. I want to say I appreciate all of you for the support over the years.
Thank you,
- Dave Warren"
