dude ,a dream comes true , i am looking for a good production made knife ,with a oriental touch for a long time now.
the handle of the phoenix combat 1 and a khanjar blade shape would be perfect .
so the first sketch comes very close to it , with texolite scales ,and a finish like the combat 1 ,in u8 steel

the second one reminds me of a roman sword .
but i have a question ,why is the serreated part of the blade so long ?

hi, i will keep to writing in English

,,,
yes the first one it is my own concept for a defensive knife..
it was bouncing around in my head for a long time.
my idea was a knife that can be use to cut like a single edged or hooked knife, but still be able to stab.
i do not know what is the "rules" in Germany on combat knife "discussion"
so i will state it was not intended for a German market when i conceived it.. but for use as a weapon. as in Russia there is a good demand for knives for self defense. of course a "collector" no doubt would appreciate it in any situation

, i post it here onyl for peopl interest in knives..
the points i was thinking of when i designed the knife were
1, a knife that cannot be easterly knocked out of your hand from an unexpected impact,
2, a knife that will not snag on your clothing when drawn in a hurry, hence the lack of a guard,
(as a guard in a knife fight is of very limited used, maybe in the 17th century but not now, knife dueling isn't so common

..)
3, a knife that can cut like a single edged or hooked knife but stab like a dagger and cut from both sides effectively with more "bite" than a dagger and has the ability to cut through slippery material with even a neglected cutting edge, (some people don't sharpen their knives often..)
4, a knife that is able to to hook or snag its target while still being able to thrust in the forward position (unlike a hooked knife)
5, a knife that can for fill these requirements while being of a usable shape
.......
and that is what it turned out like.
......
the second knife it is my impression of a modernized caucascian kindjal...
so it has the look of a kindjal and the shape,, but it is with modern materials,, .
it has a "ethno-traditional" theme. i think every native to the Caucasus would recognize it, even if it was with black oxide coating and a micarta handle..
i put the long serration on one side because daggers are never the best cutting implements , lacking a back with which to rest your thumb.. so if you need to cut coarse material, rope or cloth or some such and want to preserve the edge on the other side,, then the serrated edge will work almost like a saw and do your cutting.
on some old kindajs there can also be seen serrations on one side or on both sides, i think this was more used in the time when chain mail armor was used, although ive only seen it one more expensive kindjals, so it might have been a gimmick only.
but on any account i added them to the knife to cut things.
in a fight i would not expect a combatant to know which side of his kindjal is which.. ,, but due to the wide blade, 50mm wide, 25mm per side, it will slice with more effect that many commercial single edged combat knives. as the angle of the edge is very shallow..
i would really have liked it to come with a kydex sheath, but unfortunately they are still only working with leather.. maybe some time in the future
