Hi,

Spyderco is considering having a "meet" or "gathering" in Germany like the "meets" we had in the UK and Netherlands early this year. We had been asked at the IWA show and we set aside MAR 4 for a possibility.

It would be a one day or half day event with Some of the crew and the prototypes that we're bringing to the IWA show.

We're also planning to do "meets" in the UK (FEB 4) and Netherlands (FEB 10). There are threads going on the Spyderco site forum and the British Blades forum to get input for other "things" to do.

Is there any interest?

That´s a great idea, Sal. I plan to visit IMA next year and a Spyderco "meet" there would be really cool.

That's a great idea Sal!

But, since the IWA is not open to the general public it would be good if it took place in another location during the exhibition.

Btw, what other "things" do you have in mind?

Sounds like a great idea and I am sure it will be a lot of fun :super:

Unfortunately I am pretty sure I wont be able to be at the IWA 2007 :(

Hi Cheez,

correct, it wouldn't be at the IWA SHOW.

It would be its own thing.

We were thinking maybe Solingen.

Sal,

even though I´ll vistit the Spyderco booth at the IWA 2007 in Nuremberg (like I do every year), I would consider to join a "Spyderco Meet Germany 2007" in Solingen ... but it´s a bloody long drive from Nuremberg to Solingen :haemisch:

As a blade-maniac one should use an opportunity like that ... I´m always thrilled, when I get the chance to talk to one of the Spyderco-Team at the IWA ... like Eric (2005) or Ed Schempp (2006). As IWA means business at a tight schedule, the spare time to chat is very limited. A separate meeting provides more room for conversation and discussion.

But still I reckon to see all the new prototypes at IWA show anyway :D

someplace more central would be great. Solingen is like 420 km away from my place which equals a 6h drive :staun:

Erfurt, Göttingen and Kassel are the biggest towns near the geographical middle of Germany, which is near Niederorla, Thuringia. If we had the meeting in one of these towns nobody could complain.

Or you might as well do it in Nürnberg and save yourself and maybe some others some trouble :)

I really doesn't matter to me anyways, I won't have time to be anywhere in March :(
