Aloha ALL,

Thanks for the post Robbie...you're great! :hehe: God bless you my friend... :super:

Anyway, my name is Chad Los Banos and I am the designer of the Boker SUBCOM Folder. I just wanted to say "Hallo" and I hope what has been said so far has been "good"! :D

Daywalker, I just wanted people in Germany to see some more pics of this great looking little knife, I really like the design of it.

I was thinking this would make an awsome little "small pack" survival knife. I am going to see if mine will fit in an altoid tin.....just maybe. :super:

Aloha Robbie,

Thanks very much sir...I dunno about it playing the role of a small "survival" knife, but it will fit into an Altoid can for sure! :D
I would say that the FB version would suit "survival" use better...

I can't believe all this. Incredible.

God bless and I will get back to you soon.

Hello BlackBlade,

Thank you for the kind welcome and for starting this thread. I greatly appreciate your interest in my SUBCOM Folder design. :super:

Still, I don't know what you guys were saying about it though... :D

@ daywalker:
A welcome from me, too.

Nice to see the designer himself around here.
Feel free to post in English, of course.

So far, we are curious, and I´m looking forward to handle this knife soon!

I own a Spyderco Cricket which I found to be very useful as a box opener and similar tasks, and I can imagine that your Subcom Folder might become an alternative for it.
Let´s see. :super:

Just realised, you're holding the fixed Subcom on the first foto, that's almost what i've been searching for....
What's the thickness of the blade?
And what kind of sheath system?
...? :D

Aloha beagleboy,

Mahalo for the welcome here. Also, I do appreciate your "curiousity" about the SUBCOM Folder. ;) So far, it has been well received by those who have handled it. Thank God!

Have a great day and God bless :super:

Aloha Annapurna,

Thank you for asking about the "SFB", (Subcom Fixed Blade). The one i am holding in the picture I believe was 3/16", flat ground 440C. I had that one custom built for me me by a fine knifemaker in New York named Chase Axinn, aka chaxknives. :super:

Production model will be of the same thickness, kydex sheath. I am still not sure about the steel type and if it will come with a Tek Lok. FWIW, I have been handling the pre-production proto and it is VERY sturdy, and slip free due to my handle design. ;)

More information as I get it. Thank you and have a good day!

God bless, :super:

Seems perfect, thanx :D

Aloha Annapurna,

I don't know about "perfect", but it is a good knife! :p I am hoping for Boker to build my "X" version...longer blade with a very mild recurve to it.

I sent them a real steel prototype of one and let me tell you, it can do a "can slash" like a lightsaber! :staun:

Again, thank you all for your interest, and thanks again to you Mr. Roberson!

God bless :super:

Well, I've just been searching for the small, unobstrusive, sheeple-friendly yet potent knife, in addition to my first/second EDC. The last-ditch-blade, I mean... :hehe:
Biggest problem up to now were bad sheath systems or stupid blade designs.
So, lets see...

Hiya Annapurna,

Well...email sent. :hehe:

What do you think of the sheath system by Mr. Bud Nealy?

God bless :super:
