Buonanotte, signori!
I know little about Italian knives and Italian knife culture. I've never heard of Italian Solingen, Thiers, Sheffield, or even Toledo. The only Italian knife I've ever wanted is an automatic Stiletto. I've seen it many times in American movies about Italian gangsters and dreamed of owning one. And the first thing that came to mind was the cult TV series The Sopranos. However, I won't show you a Stiletto (all the Stiletto knives I've ever encountered were of terrible quality and looked like shitty Chinese ones). This is a traditional Italian Sardinian knife called a Pattada (resolza). It has a myrtle leaf blade. The scales are made of light horn. In my opinion, it's a pretty mediocre knife. I don't even know its age. That's why I didn't put it in the Vintage thread. Enjoy.
There you'll find all the well known manufacturers, but there still are quite a few
cutlers around in the countryside as well. From Maniago, the Skinny
