First of all I want to say thank you to Benchmade for supporting this passaround and giving us the chance to test this knife in practical use.
First impression:
When I opend the box I got not really what I expectetd. The 755MPR is a "small" knife but it is not small. Sounds strange, but you have to grap it to understand. The knife fills a hand (my hand) but it is built so rubust ...
Blade:
The blade is made of M390. A quite new blade material for BM but to me it made a good impression so far. The knife was absolutely sharp out of box and till know it kept its sharpness. I used the knife for standard cutting (paper, food, wood ...).Of course the blade is not to large but it fits to the knife design very well. The blade geometry gives no reason to complain. And I am sure with the very impressive blade thickness the blade / knife can stand a much harde use. But what I don't know - for what ist the groove in the blade? Only design ?
Lock:
Let's make it short for the lock. It's not an AXIS - my favorite. But the monolock works very well. No problems with stability, function or anything else. But it's no AXIS ;-)
Handle:
Even if the handle is so thick, I was surprised that the handling is still accaptable. The handle materials are titan and G10. To the surface structuce of the G10 you have to get used but then you see the advantages. Even with wet hands you have a very solide grip. One of the few negative points ist the clip. Only one position is possible (tip down) and the clip is in my oppinion much to tight. If the material you clip the knife (e.g. your pocket) is to thick the clip does not go down completely and is only hard to apply.
Summary:
The 755MPR won't become my EDC because it's not really suitable for the office - it is too much therfor. But luckily there is not only the office
For the spare time the 755 does have the potential to become an EDC
PS.: BM provided us for the passaround also with an field sharpener. It was not necessary to use the sharpener for the 755MPR yet, but I used it for some knifes from the kitchen and for some of my other BMs. To make it short: Very easy handling, it works surprisingly good so if you think about it - spend these few Euros. It's worth !!!
