klassische Taschenmesser

Böker Enigma (hidden Lock, Federdrücker) und Otter Mod. 166HH

Good evening, gentlemen.
Although this post is perfectly suited for my favorite Vintage section, I decided to publish it here. I was inspired to write this post after visiting the German Boker website. There, I was interested in only one section, which contains classic German-made folding knives. The site offers options for selecting a line and country of manufacture. I choose Boker Solingen and the country of manufacture, Germany. To my deep regret, this section becomes poorer with each visit to the site. It is very sad that fewer and fewer classic Boker knives are being produced in Solingen. They say this is due to a shortage of specialists. The old-school craftsmen are gradually disappearing. Influenced by these thoughts, I hastened to acquire several beautiful classic "old school" knives made in Germany at the end of the last century. All knives are in mint condition. Enjoy

Special thanks to our friend Polaris1977 for kindly providing an illustration from an old Boker catalog. Please note the prices in DM

Protea hat m.E. gute Messer gebaut (jedenfalls soweit es die betrifft, die ich habe ;)), und das hier ist ein Schmuckstück!

Protea-Messer wären auch mal einen eigenen Thread wert ... oder?

Hello, gentlemen!
I'd like to share with you a couple of knives that a friend brought me as a gift from his trip to Japan. I've always been quite skeptical about Japanese folding knives, but after this gift, I changed my mind.
The Mcusta knife is like a Lexus; it folds and opens very smoothly and precisely. The quality of the materials is also impressive. The blade is made of Damascus steel, the scales are made of desert ironwood.
The classic Higonokami is a small katana. The blade is razor sharp. The steel handle is trimmed with fine leather. I'm very pleased 😊

As @kaiman stated: Even Your Dog…….
I would be pleased as well by such gifts. Especially Mcusta excites me but I could resist so far.
Enjoy your japanese couple

Thank you. Yes, Mcusta definitely deserves respect. It's a relatively young, but respectable brand. Good quality and attention to detail.

American classics.
A couple of these Yankees could easily be featured in my favorite Vintage section, as they're over 30 years old. As far as I know, vintage is considered to be anything over 25 years old. But I think they belong here. Both knives are in mint condition, never used, and have their boxes and papers. So, let's go:

Case Trapper, real jigged bone, stainless steel blades.
Bear MGC, real bone scales, stainless steel.
