ich habe mir gerade ein kleines London von FP bestellt.

Darauf hatte ich ein, wie immer, sehr nettes Gespräch mit Yann. Ich wollte wissen, ob man auf die Bolster auch andere
Motive 'scrimshawen' oder gravieren kann, als auf der Website bei 'Customize' verzeichnet. Speziell wollte ich Madames
Tierkreiszeichen. Yann's Antwort: 'Kein Problem'. Man könne jederzeit auch andere Motive, wie Initialen, Symbole,
Gebäude, usw. darstellen, evtl. wäre es eine Frage des Aufwands, bzw. des Preises.

I really like this old school knife model, especially the exquisite FP version. They are great when it comes to customization and details. For example, for me they made my initials in Hebrew part of the guilloche.

Das Opinel einer Freundin, nach der Waschmaschine... aber es läuft nach dem Trocknen wieder einwandfrei

Einmal kurz über den Rubinstab - zack, wieder in die Hosentasche. In der Landwirtschaft ist man etwas großzügiger mit dem Finish ... 🤦‍♂️

Yes, absolutely. We even use a set of Opinel kitchen knives at home in Cameroun. As in most
francophone African nations Opinel has a dealership there. Here in Germany, I have a few No. 8’s just
for the heck of it, and I use them for almost everything, from cutting vegetables to packing tape. When
I was still really active in West-Africa, we occasionally presented Opinels with the company logo on
the blade to the local workforce, they were always well received.

About this No8, 'La Marmotte' I got accused of flirting with the lady of the Souvenir Shop. 😇

I have an Opinel in the glove compartment of my car for all occasions. And another Opinel with a bread saw in the country house. I will say more, my father has an Opinel bought in Paris in 1984. He used it quite often all these years. This knife is still alive! I think this is more than an excellent trial period for a knife from the low price segment. If there were more high-quality inexpensive European products like this, we would not see so much Chinese junk.
